We are a private practice of licensed psychologists and clinicians committed to providing the highest quality outpatient mental health services to clients of all ages. We provide a secure, non-judgmental and confidential space in which to pursue your mental health treatment. Our clinic consists of psychologists, master's level social workers, and a nurse practitioner, all of whom are committed to creating a trauma-informed environment that respects culture, race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, and socio-economic status.

What is Trauma-Informed Care?

Trauma-informed care is an approach to engaging people with histories of trauma that recognizes the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledges the role that trauma has played in their lives. ** (more about trauma therapy)

Who is this service for?

Our services are available to clients of all ages. We offer individual counseling for children, adolescents, and adults, couples and family counseling, and psychological assessment. We treat a variety of mental health difficulties. Some examples include anxiety, depression, obsessions/compulsions, ADHD, relationship difficulties, and trauma-related disorders.

What makes us unique?

DeCoteau Trauma-Informed Care & Practice is informed about, and sensitive to, trauma-related issues present in survivors. We accommodate the vulnerabilities of trauma survivors and deliver services in a way that promotes the client's safety, dignity, and privacy, and facilitates their participation in treatment.

Our services involve open and genuine collaboration between client and counselor at all phases. We emphasize skill-building and acquisition rather than symptom management. We understand that oftentimes problematic behaviors are simply an attempt to cope with difficult circumstances and troubling memories. Our counselors and trained therapists approach each trauma survivor's treatment with a focus on what has happened to the person rather than what is wrong with the person.
